Piepy 0.2.0: the first public release

Piepy puts your AI coding agents in the notch. Every Code Puppy, Wibey and Cursor session you run gets a row in one island at the top of your screen: its mascot, its folder and what it's doing right now.

What it does

  • Every session at a glance. Each agent's mascot shows whether it's working, waiting for you or done. On a display without a notch, Piepy floats as a pill you can drag to any of 17 spots.

  • Jump straight to it. Click a session and Piepy takes you to the exact cmux pane or Cursor window it runs in.

  • Answer without switching. When an agent stops to ask, Allow or Deny it, or pick from its options, right in the island. Anything that needs typing takes you to the session.

  • Hear it, don't watch it. When a session finishes or needs you, the island opens for two seconds, and it never takes your keyboard. Each moment can have its own sound: Piepy's 8-bit jingle, a macOS sound or a file of your own.

  • Quiet when you want it. Set quiet hours, or keep Piepy quiet while your screen is locked. Only the sounds stop; everything else carries on.

  • It stays on your Mac. Your agents talk to Piepy over a private connection on your Mac, and nothing about your sessions leaves it.

Getting started

The first time Piepy opens, it looks for the agents on your Mac and offers to connect them: click Install. You can add or remove one any time in Settings → Integrations.

Updates

From this version on, Piepy keeps itself up to date. It checks once a day, downloads a new version in the background and lets you know when it's ready. It never restarts on its own: restart from the island, the menu or Settings when it suits you, or the update is applied the next time you quit. You can turn automatic updates off, or check now, in Settings → General.
